As economic stimulus packages are being handed out left and right, the lines blur between what’s fair, and what’s not. What about the homeowners who are in trouble? What about the ones who aren’t? What about the mounting job losses? Should we spend more to save other people’s jobs? Or spend less to save ourselves? Should we buy stocks because they’re on sale? Who will bail me out? What household-name company will fail next? What town, city, county, or state government will shrink or go bankrupt?

We can’t let the Big 3 car companies fail, but what about the airlines? The trains? The transit systems? The taxi fleets? The horses and carriages in Central Park? How far will the economic stimulus packages go? Far enough to heal an ailing nation? Or far enough to permanently unhinge capitalism? Has the world gone mad, almost overnight?
